Blink Brings 4K and Long Range Cameras

Amazon's Blink unveiled five security cameras last week led by the $79.99 Mini 4K+, the brand's first 4K camera, featuring Wi-Fi 6, IP65 weatherproofing and AI-generated Video Descriptions for subscribers. Other camera announcements include the $49.99 Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+, a $109.99 battery-powered Spotlight Cam 2K+, and two long-range XR+ models: the $149.99 Outdoor 2K XR+ and the $199.99 Frontier XR+ trail camera.

The Circana Take:

  • Blink is introducing 4K resolution into lower price tiers, a move that will pressure competitors in the space.
  • The addition of two extended range cameras should be a welcome solution to consumers with large properties where connectivity is a challenge, but this segment will likely remain a niche.

Eufy Releases a new Security Camera

Eufy has launched the E10 Window Camera, a compact home security camera that attaches directly to a window, allowing users to monitor outdoor areas without drilling holes or installing exterior hardware. The camera offers 2.5K video resolution, AI detection for people, pets, and vehicles, local storage via microSD card, and no required subscription fees. It also supports Alexa and Google Home integration. Its primary drawback is a wired power connection, which limits placement to windows near an electrical outlet.

The Circana Take:

  • The E10 removes key adoption barriers in home security. Its window-mounted design makes installation easy for renters and apartment dwellers, while local storage eliminates recurring subscription fees.
  • The product also reflects growing consumer demand for convenient, AI-enabled, and cost-effective smart home solutions.
