Ultraloq Smart Locks Add Android Support

Ultraloq’s Bolt NFC smart lock now supports tap-to-unlock for Android users, thanks to a free update to the U home app. This feature allows NFC-enabled Android phones to unlock a door with a simple tap, without needing to open an app or wake the screen. Previously exclusive to Apple Home Key, the update makes the lock more accessible for mixed-device households. It also supports NFC cards, tags, and fobs. Priced at $199.99.

The Circana Take:

  • Tap to unlock is an important feature which will help drive adoption of Smart Locks and Ultraloq’s support for Android devices will help widen the appeal of the Bolt.
  • Users value security and convenience when looking to purchase a Smart Lock and adding tap to unlock support helps to deliver on both of those consumer needs.

ReoLink Releases A Floodlight at IFA

Reolink’s new TrackFlex Floodlight Wi-Fi camera, unveiled at IFA 2025, features dual 4K lenses with full 360-degree pan-tilt coverage and 270-degree motion detection. It uses ReoNeura, Reolink’s advanced on-device AI, to reduce false alerts and enable natural-language video search like “man in red shirt.” The camera auto-rotates to track motion before subjects enter view and offers up to 3,000 lumens of adjustable lighting.

The Circana Take:

  • The growing market of floodlight cameras indicates consumer interest in combining security cameras with smart lighting capabilities. The emergence of the segment could also provide opportunities for more lighting brands to enter this market of security focused lighting devices.
